Ensuring medication safety is a global challenge. While much has been done to improve the safety of medication usage in our healthcare system, safety risks due to medications continue to present concerns because of the rapidly ageing population and an increase in incidences of polypharmacy and drug-related interactions and complications. The advent of medication-related technologies to improve safety, e.g. Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) systems, “Smart” infusion pumps, and automated drug picking and packing systems has also presented challenges due to technology-induced errors.

This one-day program is designed to introduce a unified comprehensive approach for developing, improving compliance, and increasing the awareness of all health care professionals who are dealing with prescribing, dispensing and administering medication for patients safely and independently with no errors based on a critical thinking approach.
